London Sinfonietta with Southampton Youth Strings and Southampton Youth Wind Band

On Saturday 12 February Southampton Music Hub will welcome composer, conductor and presenter Patrick Bailey and players from the London Sinfonietta to work with players from Southampton Youth Strings and Southampton Youth Wind Band.

During the day Southampton's young musicians will work on on two contemporary pieces: developing modern technical skills, being involved in the creative process of developing a new piece of music, as well as taking part in sectionals with players from London Sinfonietta.

The day will end with a free public performance,

Southampton Wind Band: Gala Concert

Join Southampton Wind Band (SWB) for an evening of symphonic, wind band and movie classics.

This concert is a fond farewell to Dave King and Elaine Bohun, who have worked with Southampton Wind Band for a staggering 37 years.

£10, £7 concessions, £1 under 18s.

Tickets can be purchased through Thornden Hall box office.

As this concert has been rearranged from 20 November, any previously purchased tickets will be transferred over to the new date. If you are unable to attend the revised date of 12 December, you are able to claim a refund from Thornden Hall box office.

Supersónic Philharmonic at Christmas

A day of festive music making with Són and Southampton Music Hub.

The day is aimed at children who are grade 2-6 standard and parents/grandparents who play an instrument are welcome to join them for the day.

Cost is £20 for one child (£10 pupil premium), £35 for family of 4 (£17.50 where one or more children is pupil premium).

Royal Marines Band Workshop

The RMB have invited young instrumentalists (grade 6+) aged 15 and above to take part in masterclasses and workshops with RMB Band at HM Naval Base in Portsmouth. It will give young musicians the opportunity to see what life is like in the Royal Marines Band Service and perform alongside the Royal Marines Band.
