Southampton Music Hub is delighted to be partnering with The Stage Door and Golden Groove Productions to create a unique opportunity for young musicians in the city to take part in a Monthly Open Mic Night from February 2024!
Each night will feature local professional musicians as the house band or artist who will host each night and support young musicians with their performance techniques. We will provide all the technical requirements and backline (instruments) that you might need to perform just let us know in the notes below what you need.
The sessions will run from 6.30pm - 9pm upstairs in The Stage Door and parents, friends and family are very welcome to attend and come and support you. If you would like to take part, sign up via the button below.

Nielsen’s Helios Overture opens the concert, illustrating the sunrise on the eastern horizon of the Aegean sea and following the sun’s journey through the sky to sunset.
With the darkened sea, Rimsky-Korsakoff’s thrilling Arabian tale of Scheherazade and Sinbad the Sailor begins.
Musical director Kevin Withell is delighted to welcome guest leader and soloist Stephen Nurse.

Join Southampton's largest youth orchestra featuring Mayflower Youth Theatre for a musical Christmas Party you won't forget!
Everyone is invited to Southampton Youth Concert Sinfonia's Christmas extravaganza. Featuring around 80 of Southampton's finest young musicians aged 11-18, SYCS always deliver an exciting programme which appeals to all the family.
Programme to feature everyone's favourite Christmas Crackers including Home Alone and Shakin' Stevens. This exciting programme really does have something for everyone. We are delighted to be joined by Mayflower Youth Theatre for this concert and Ho-Ho-Hope you can join us too!

Enjoy performances from Youth Rock Bands, Rappers & Schools of brand new songs based on well-known Christmas Stories written by Jo Downs, along with some classic Christmas hits!
There will be music inspired by tales of the Christmassaurus, Elf on the Shelf, The Grinch & Christmas Ballads.

Presenting Storytellers!
This family friendly concert will lead you through a dark tale of a stormy seaside town in the form of Ethel Smyth’s Overture to The Wreckers, the exotic characters of Bizet’s Carmen and the adventures of Norwegian folk legend ‘Peer Gynt’, immortalised in music by Grieg.
The concert finishes with Tchaikovsky’s musical retelling of Shakespeare’s tale of love and loss in his Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture.

Southampton Youth Orchestra are proud to present a performance of Tolgsa Kashif's Queen Symphony at 7.30 on 15 July at the Southampton Guildhall.
This exciting work is rarely performed so this is a great opportunity to hear it performed by some of Southampton's talented young musicians. The three Groove's rocks bands will be setting the scene in the first half with a range of rock classics.

Watch some incredible young musicians represent their city and play a whole host of timeless rock and pop music from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queen, Paramore, Green Day and many others.
The Groove Bands will be joined by the sharp rhymes and rhythms of FLOW - our under 16's rap workshop at MAST on Saturdays.

Offenbach's ever-popular overture to Orpheus in the Underworld opens the concert with it famous 'can-can' finale, and Dvorak's ever-popular New World Symphony takes pride of place in the second half. Southampton Youth Orchestra are delighted to welcome Edward Bence to perform Saint-Saens' effervescent and virtuosic Piano Concerto No.2.
