Southampton and Isle of Wight Music Hub presented the Community Stage this year at Turner Sims family day.

We celebrated local talented young people with an exciting line up of performances from performers that take part in Rising Stars open mic nights at The Stage Door as well as performances from Groove Merchant and Groove Syndicate.

The ensembles of Southampton and Isle of Wight Music have once again been busy performing over the last half term. 

As always, the standard of playing is incredibly high.  It has been brilliant as well to see the directors finding new events for our groups to perform in and developing links with local community groups for joint performances.   For example Groove Syndicate and Groove Merchant taking part in the Bursfest in aid of HeartBeat back in February and the Southampton Youth Brass Band performed alongside Ocean Brass in March.

Sunday 8 December welcomes the start of Christmas concert season at Southampton Music Hub as three brass bands come together at Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church for their annual Christmas concert.

The Christmas programme continues with an Airplay concert on Thursday 12 December and a chance to rock around the Christmas tree on Friday 13 December with Groove Merchant, Groove Foundation and Groove Syndicate.

The Christmas concert season rounds off on Sunday 15 December with a family-friendly concert from Southampton Youth Concert Sinfonia (SYCS), where they will bring an exciting programme of musical entertainment to Turner Sims Southampton, including Christmas at the Movies, Music from Frozen, and range of Christmas Carols.
